Motor insurance holders who are looking to stay safe while on wet roads can now get their hands on a new tyre.
Uniroyal has launched a new rubber that provides extra grip in the wet, which could be of benefit to drivers at this time of the year and also in the winter months.
David White, customer services director at Kwik-Fit, said that many drivers have experienced a loss of traction on wet roads when braking sharply or cornering.
“However, most motorists are unaware that some tyres are especially designed for wet weather performance. For some drivers, this range will give them both additional grip and extra peace of mind in wet conditions, helping increase road safety in poor weather,” he added.
According to the latest figures released by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, one third of road collisions happen on wet surfaces, with the UK also seeing rainfall on 154 days in the year.
