Driving courses for young car insurance policyholders ‘cut deaths’

June 14, 2010  Written by Jeffrey Nelson

Authorities in Leicestershire have revealed that free advanced driving lessons for young motorists have helped reduce the number of road accidents, a newspaper has reported.

According to the Leicester Mercury, around 70 per cent of young people in Rutland have taken the course, which includes motorway training, after passing their standard driving test.

Rutland County Council told the newspaper that there had been a “significant reduction” in the number of traffic accidents involving young drivers since the Pass Plus course was introduced.

Council leader Roger Begy said: “The reason we got this off the ground was because of the number of young people killing themselves on the roads.”

Inspector Johnny Monks, of Rutland Police, added that the scheme “has contributed” to a reduction in the number of injuries and fatalities involving younger motorists in the area.

Meanwhile, young drivers in Chorley will be offered free practical advice and discounted driving courses at a two-day event to be held by the Advanced Motorist Group on June 18th and 19th.

Compare auto insurance quotes and review car insurance if quote cost more than agent said it would.

Response : Most of us rely on our car insurance quotes on agents with whom we have been doing business since a long time. Agents are reliable and know much more on car insurance than you.
